1940s/50s CWS Haberdashery Shop Counter Cabinet — Glass Display & Drawers
This is a vintage mid-century glass-fronted haberdashery shop counter cabinet manufactured by the Co-operative Wholesale Society Ltd. (Salford) in the late 1940s or 1950s. The counter features a front sloped glass display with tiered sliding wooden tray shelves, ideal for organizing textiles or collectibles. The back offers substantial storage with a complete bank of solid wood drawers. It is fitted with heavy-duty casters for easy maneuverability. The original maker's metal authenticity plaque is present. Notable for its good structural condition, the piece shows surface scuffs, wear to the wood finish, and scratches on the glass top consistent with age. One drawer pull on the rear is slightly damaged.
